Creation and Life: An Introduction to Biology

Creation and Life introduces you to the world of biology within a Christian framework, weaving together the study of life with insights from a Christian worldview. The course explores the fundamental concepts of biology—including cellular structure, genetics, biological change, and ecology—while examining how these scientific ideas intersect with Christian beliefs about creation, stewardship, and the value of life. Throughout the course, you will be encouraged to engage in thoughtful dialogue, explore diverse perspectives, and integrate biology with your Faith.
Art Appreciation and Experience

An introductory study of art appreciation. The course covers art-related vocabulary, focused observation, historical context and the elements and principles of design as an entry into discussion surrounding the meaning and purpose of visual imagery. Concepts emerge from the content areas of aesthetics, art history and critical inquiry.

This course presents a counter-cultural model of biblical leadership. Students will explore kingdom principles which form the foundations for a life of leadership. It is an applied course that relates the “I AM Third” model of leadership to the real world. An emphasis will be placed on developing and implementing one’s own practice in order to both live and lead as God 1st, Other’s 2nd, and Self 3rd.

The Story in the Bible

This course traces the story of God’s ongoing relationship with humanity from creation and humanity's estrangement from God in Genesis to the reconciliation made possible through Jesus Christ, to our ultimate restoration in Revelation. Each book of the Bible is a key moment in God’s great tapestry of redemption, illuminating key figures, events, and themes. This course will provide you with an overall understanding of the Bible as the story of God's unwavering love and promise of redemption.
Theater Appreciation

This course introduces students to the world of theatre, exploring its themes, artistic elements, and their relevance to everyday life and a Christian worldview. Through hands-on experiences, students will watch, create, and discuss theatrical productions while gaining an appreciation for the individual disciplines within theatre. They will analyze artistic choices, recognize how collaboration shapes a production, and develop standards for evaluating theatrical works from a Christian perspective.
Personal Cybersecurity

This course is a broad overview of computer security topics including security threats, personal computer security, operating system security, web security, physical security, access control, intrusion detection, anti-virus & anti-spyware systems, cryptography, steganography, security models & practice, business continuity & disaster recovery, and risk management. A brief introduction to secure software development is included. The course will not include a significant coding component.
